Euroleague star Alexey Shved continues to draw interest from the NBA and has turned down contract offers from the New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns this summer, his agent tells HoopsHype.
“Every year, there’s active interest for Alexey from NBA teams,” said Obrad Fimic. “This summer, New Orleans, Minnesota, Memphis and Phoenix expressed a willingness to sign him.”
Shved currently plays for Russian giant Khimki Moscow. He was crowned the scoring champion for the 2017-2018 Euroleague season, averaging 21.8 points per game.
“Next year, Alexey will still be under contract with Khimki, but we’ll be carefully considering offers from the NBA,” Fimic said. “Everyone says the NBA team will have more available money next summer. Therefore, the probability of his departure will increase.”
Shved, 29, has played in 182 games in the NBA with the Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets and New York Knicks. He has career averages of 7.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
The 6-foot-6 guard last played in an NBA game during the 2014-15 season.
