Pistons offer Hawks’ Rose spot in revamped front office

Malik Rose of the Hawks has been offered a position in the Pistons' front office, according to a report.

Malik Rose had a great season with the Erie BayHawks of the G League, earning executive-of-the-year honors.

It’s reportedly earned him a promotion, according to a report by Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

He reports the Detroit Pistons have offered Rose, an executive with the Atlanta Hawks, a role in their revamped front office and discussions about a potential contract are ongoing.

In his first season as an NBA G League general manager, Rose oversaw a team that finished with a 28-22 record and reached the playoffs as the third seed in the Eastern Conference before being eliminated by eventual champion Toronto 905 in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Rose, in his third season as Basketball Operations Manager for the Hawks, played 13 seasons in the NBA (1996-2009).  Before joining Atlanta’s front office, he spent four years as a television analyst for the Philadelphia 76ers.
