The Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz are among the teams with an interest in big man Bobby Portis, according to Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington.
Portis ended last season with the Washington Wizards following a trade with the Chicago Bulls that also involved Jabari Parker (to Washington) and Otto Porter Jr. (to Chicago).
Along with the aforementioned, the Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic and New York Knicks also have Portis on their radars, Hughes reported.
That said, the Wizards are likely to extend a qualifying offer of $3.6 million to Portis, making him a restricted free agent. In that scenario, the Wizards could let the market determine his salary, match an offer he receives from another team and keep him.
Portis, 24, averaged 14.2 points and 8.0 rebounds in 50 games this past season.
“Despite restricted free agency, Portis has a few things working for him,” Hughes wrote. “For one, there are a lot of teams with cap room. Spending won’t reach 2016 levels, when the new CBA spiked the salary cap, but there will a lot of money to go around.”
