The Canton Charge are getting another chance to make something good happen far from home. That would be to win on the West Coast.
After making a late run and having some good moments in Tuesday’s 108-101 loss at the Santa Cruz Warriors, the Charge complete their two-game California swing Thursday at the Bakersfield Jam. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. EST.
Coach Jordi Fernandez’s Charge (3-8) are led in scoring by rookie guard Quinn Cook at 15.7 points per game. Cook, fresh off winning an NCAA championship at Duke, was in camp with the Cavaliers.
Cavs assignee Joe Harris adds 17.3 points, center Michael Dunigan 14.0 and forward Nick Minnerath 13.9.
The Jam (7-6) are coached by former Ohio State standout and ex-Cavaliers assistant Chris Jent. They are led in scoring by former NBA forward Earl Clark at 21.7 points.
