Manu Ginobli of the San Antonio Spurs missed his third consecutive game Sunday, sitting out the Spurs’ contest against visiting Indiana.
However, the 6-foot-6, 205-pound Ginobli, who has been sidelined by a right thigh contusion suffered last Monday against Indiana, hopes to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, according to a report.
“I was hoping to play today,” the 40-year-old Ginobili told reporters before Sunday’s game against the Pacers. “I worked out (Saturday), and the leg is not quite ready yet. It’s not strong enough, a little sore.
“Hopefully, I can play the next one (against the Cavaliers on Tuesday).”
Ginobli, now in his 16th season as a Spur, is averaging 9.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 20.5 minutes in 37 games, all off the bench, this season.
