Representatives for New York Knicks center Willy Hernangomez have requested for him to be dealt before the NBA trade deadline Thursday.
According to Yahoo Sports, Hernangomez’s representatives made their rumored request official in the last few days.
In his second season in the NBA, the 23-year-old Hernangomez has fallen out of the rotation for New York, not getting off the bench 29 of the team’s 54 games.
He is averaging 4.4 points and 2.6 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per game on the after making the NBA’s All-Rookie first team last season.
Hernangomez averaged 8.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 18.4 minutes in 72 games last season, emerging alongside close friend and All-Star Kristaps Porzingis.
