Report: LeBron, Lakers open season at Blazers

LeBron James bolted for the Lakers after four seasons with the Cavaliers.

The NBA has yet to release its 2018-19 schedule, but already the LeBron James schedule leaks are coming your way.

First came the news that James and the Los Angeles Lakers will visit the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors as part of the Christmas Day schedule.

Now, it appears we know where James and LA will open the season — with Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer reporting the Lakers will visit the Portland Trail Blazers to open the season Oct. 18.

After eight straight appearances in the Finals, including the last four with the Cleveland Cavaliers, James departed for Hollywood and a relatively young and recently unsuccessful Lakers squad.

Along with James, the Lakers have added veterans Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee and Michael Beasley.

Meanwhile, the Blazers are still lead by the talented backcourt of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. They finished third in the Western Conference last season — but lost to the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round of the playoffs.

The NBA is expected to release the first week of its schedule and all nationally televised games for 2018-19 at 2 p.m. EST on Wednesday.
