When you look at the Orlando Magic roster, one would think that high-flyer Aaron Gordon is a player the franchise can build with given his steady improvement year after year and hard work ethic.
The Magic’s new front office of Jeff Weltman and John Hammond, however, might go in a different direction.
According to a report from The Athletic, the Magic are exploring the possibility of moving Gordon before the Feb. 8 trade deadline.
“The new regime of Jeff Weltman and John Hammond has left no stone unturned with the deadline approaching, including quietly gauging the trade market on Aaron Gordon, league sources told The Athletic.”
Gordon is having a career year this season with Orlando. The 22-year-old power forward is averaging 18.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from three.
