San Antonio Spurs star small forward Kawhi Leonard could make his return to the lineup on Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans, according to a report from ESPN.
Leonard has only played in nine games this season because of tendinopathy in his right quadriceps.
The two-time Defensive Player of the Year averaged 16.2 points before the Spurs shut him down on Jan. 15 after a setback in the quadriceps.
ESPN's Lisa Salters is reporting that San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard could return as early as Thursday's game against New Orleans. League sources tell me that barring a setback, Thursday vs. Pels is indeed the targeted return of Leonard to the lineup.
