Report: Target date set for Leonard’s return

San Antonio Spurs star small forward Kawhi Leonard could make his return to the lineup on Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans, according to a report from ESPN.

Leonard has only played in nine games this season because of tendinopathy in his right quadriceps.

The two-time Defensive Player of the Year averaged 16.2 points before the Spurs shut him down on Jan. 15 after a setback in the quadriceps.

The Spurs entered Saturday with a record of 37-28, sitting at the fifth spot in the Western Conference.
