Sacramento Kings guard Iman Shumpert has opted into his $11 million player option for the 2018-19 season, according to a report from Yahoo Sports.
Shumpert began this season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, appearing in 14 games and averaging 4.4 points. He was traded to the Kings at the trade deadline, but never played a game with Sacramento due to a knee injury.
The 27-year-old Chicago native signed a four-year, $40 million deal with the Cavs back in 2015 and will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019.
Shumpert has career averages of 7.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 384 games.
