Anfernee Simons had a pre-draft workout with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday and according to one NBA insider, it went very well, apparently.
Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer said Simons had a good day with Cleveland.
Anfernee Simons is getting some first round buzz: The Blazers and Lakers are interested in the late first, per sources. Heard Simons also impressed at a workout on Wednesday with the Cavs. Simons is raw but projects as an athletic scoring guard with size: https://t.co/MMsjLxHu0W

Cleveland owns the eighth overall selection the draft.
Simons, a 6-foot-5 combo guard who played at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., was slated to attend the University of Louisville before the Cardinals’ program was penalized for its 2015 sex scandal.
He is the first American player to bypass the draft since the NBA put in its current age-restriction rules in 2005.
Simons is considered by most draft gurus as a mid-to-late first-round pick, meaning he will most likely not be in play for the Cavaliers at No. 8. However, a plethora of trades go down before, during and after the draft, so anything and everyone are in play.
Always. Always prepare for the draft as if your team can get any pick between 1 and 60 the day of the draft. Obviously like football or baseball, you have your board with players you’d like to add and a needs board. Then an Anthony Bennett situation doesn’t appear. Right??? Oh God Cleveland has a draft pick again.
I’m a little confused on your assessment. If he’s mid to late and they have the 8th pick doesn’t that mean he will still be on the board?
Personally think Kevin Knox should be the pick at #8. Only 18 and 6’9″ with 7′ span and will probably grow another inch or 2. Can shoot from anywhere. He reminds me of a young Kevin Durant.
