Sixers’ Chandler to miss time with strained hamstring

Wilson Chandler was acquired by the Sixers in a trade with the Nuggets in July.

Philadelphia 76ers small forward Wilson Chandler will miss at least two-to-three weeks with a strained left hamstring, the team announced in a news release Saturday.

Chandler suffered the injury during Friday night’s preseason game against Melbourne United.

He spent the past six-and-a-half seasons with the Denver Nuggets, before being acquired by the Sixers in a July trade.

“Wilson’s veteran experience in the NBA, along with his inherent skill package, makes him a tremendous acquisition for our young team,” Sixers coach Brett Brown said. “He is a modern-day player, takes tremendous pride in playing defense and his ability to shoot from the perimeter is exactly what we are looking for.”

Chandler, 31, averaged 10.0 points and 5.4 rebounds in 74 games with the Nuggets last season.
