The Phoenix Suns intend to sign power forward Ray Spalding to a 10-day contract, according to Gina Mizell of The Athletic.
Spalding is 6-foot-10 and was recently waived by the Dallas Mavericks. He has appeared in just one NBA game this season, as Mizell pointed out, in the season-opener against the Suns.
Spalding was selected in the second round of the 2018 draft (No. 56 overall) by the Philadelphia 76ers. Then-Louisville coach Rick Pitino once referred to Spalding as the most versatile player he ever coached.
He has appeared in 29 games with the G-League’s Texas Legends this season and is averaging 15.9 points and 9.3 rebounds.
