They return the same coach in Steve Clifford, whose teams have a reputation for playing hard and smart. They return Kemba Walker, a winner of a guard. They return Nicolas Batum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and several others from last season’s playoff squad. They lost Al Jefferson, and added Marco Belinelli and Roy Hibbert. For the Hornets, it’s mostly more of the same. Can they improve from within? Well, that’s what the team owned by Michael Jordan fully plans to discover in camp.
