Former NBA point guard Casper Ware has opted out of his contract with the Sydney Kings of Australia’s NBL, according to ESPN.
Ware was the highest-paid player in the NBL this past season, but because of the financial strain suffered because of the coronavirus, would be forced to take a 50-percent pay cut, ESPN reported.
Ware, 30, is 5-foot-10 and has spent plenty of time in NBA training camps. He appeared in nine games with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2013-14 season.
He has also played professionally in China, Italy, Germany and France.
