Report: Wizards match Nets’ offer for Porter

The Wizards have officially matched the Nets' offer for Otto Porter.

The Washington Wizards have matched Otto Porter‘s max contract offer sheet from the Brooklyn Nets, according to a report by the Washington Post.

Porter reached agreement on a four-year, $106 million offer sheet with the Nets on July 4.

The Vertical reported that very same day that the Wizards had every intention of matching the deal.

Porter averaged 13.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this past season with Washington. The athletic swingman shot 51.6 percent from the field and 43.4 percent beyond the arc.

Porter’s three-point percentage ranked fourth best in the NBA, and combined with his ability to defend positions 1-4, he was set to earn this type of payday once the free agency period began.
