Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Colonel has been accused of spreading lies about the riots on the island this Saturday (07.17.2021), in front of Raul Castro’s company and thousands of supporters.

Six days after the historic protests against the communist government, he said it was “a lie for the world to see from Cuba” the spread of “false images” on social networks that “provoke and glorify the destruction and destruction of real estate”.

“There is more of a hatred on social networks,” he stressed. However, the government cut off mobile internet access on the island until Wednesday, before it was re-established but was unstable.

The Havana regime is “not a government that oppresses its people,” said Theos-Colonel. One person was killed in the clashes, dozens were injured and more than 100 were arrested.

Along with Diaz-Colonel, former President Raul Castro, 90, was forced to retire temporarily due to the severity of the situation.

Prior to the event, a man was arrested on the Esplanade in Bragua, near the U.S. embassy, after shouting “Homeland and Life”, the title of a provocative rap song that became the anthem of the protests. AFP News Agency.

According to the official Granma newspaper, events such as Santiago de Cuba, Biamo, Camage and Santa Clara are planned for other cities in the country this Saturday.
