The Celtics could part ways with Blake Griffin

Blake Griffin will be counting his hours with the Boston Celtics, as reported by Brian Rupp Mass Live.

There has been an eerie silence about Blake Griffin since the season ended. Brad Stephens (Head of Basketball Operations) never mentioned him in any of his press conferences, and that could be a sign that the team will move forward without him,” the journalist wrote.

Forward Force arrived at Boston last September to give depth to front courtwho at the time did not have Robert Williams due to injury. In 41 games, he averaged 4.1 points and 3.8 rebounds after participating in 13.9 minutes on the court. Then, in the postseason, he only played six minutes. Despite the lack of activity, he made a positive impact in the dressing room and also won the audience’s affection.

Griffin became an unrestricted free agent as of July 1. The Celtics currently have a vacant roster spot, though they could add another by canceling the contracts of Dalano Banton or Justin Champagnie. “At the moment, the team wants to be flexible with the roster and therefore look at other contracts. They may not be willing to commit money guaranteed by Griffin until other alternatives are ruled out,” Rob added.

At the age of 34, the intern is aiming to play his 14th season. In all, he has played 765 games since the Los Angeles Clippers first selected him in the 2009 draft.
