Goodbye to Patrick Beverley's season?
It happened again. Patrick Beverley has become his own source of information with his podcast. The point guard, who is now with the Bucks, made the revelation The last episode of Pat Beef Pod He suffers from a torn ligament in his right wrist, which will force him to undergo surgery. Just yesterday he couldn't lose to the Los Angeles Lakers for the same reason.
What is striking is that the Milwaukee Bucks did not provide any update or timetable regarding the injury of Beverley, who joined the team last February. However, he himself ventured to predict that the operation would take him out of combat “for months.” This clearly raises questions about his participation in the remainder of the season. The regular league ends on April 14. That is, in just over two weeks.
Although his signing seemed marginal (he came in exchange for Cameron Payne and a 2027 second-round pick with the Sixers), the truth is that Beverley has somewhat succeeded in alleviating a perceived weakness in the Bucks' perimeter defense. The point guard doesn't support the system on his own, but he is an improvement over Damian Lillard and Malik Beasley. Above all, he provides Doc Rivers with a defensive spearhead that they lost with the departure of Jrue Holiday and Jevon Carter. His presence doesn't change Wisconsin's prospects, but losing him means losing the variables on that perimeter line.
