Barcelona would be interested in NBA player Anthony Gil.

The dance of names continues regarding the offensive powerhouse that Barcelona needs to fill. The latest player to be linked to Juan Peñaroya’s team is NBA player Anthony Gil, an experienced player in Europe who was already in Barça’s orbit last summer before the decision was made regarding Jabari Parker. The news was reported by Sportando, who claim that both Barça and Anadolu Efes are interested in the player.

The 31-year-old, 6-foot-2 forward has played for the Washington Wizards the last four seasons, though he hasn't really stood out. In his last game, he played in 50 games, averaging 3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 9.3 minutes.

He previously played in the Euroleague with Khimki of Russia, where he spent three years (2017-20). There his role was more prominent and his averages were higher: 10.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and a rating of 11.9, with a remarkable percentage of 40.6% on three-pointers. In the NBA, his three-point shooting efficiency has dropped significantly (24% last year).

Hill's problem is that he doesn't have a passport other than the US, which would force Barcelona to fill their free spot outside the EU (the other one is occupied by Parker). That would force the unsigned forward to be European or Cotonou.

Last season, Hill earned nearly $2 million in Washington, a figure that would have to be significantly reduced to reach Palau given that Barcelona has less than a million euros to sign a 'four'.
