This is how the first group schedule of the Central American Cup looked like
2024-08-22
Group A of the Central American Cup turned out to be one of the most complicated groups in the second edition of the prestigious CONCACAF club tournament.
But Deriangin and Herediano dealt heavy blows in the standings after their wins in the fourth week of the international competition.
Teco won 0-1 against San Francisco, the team that was eliminated from the Central American Cup. The “team” is now in first place with nine points. Diriangen is in second place with seven units.
Motagua, who are third with six points, will have to draw or win by any score against Herediano on the final day of the international tournament.
If the blue team equalizes on the scoreboard, they will be level on points with Deriangen, but the “Memado” will qualify for the quarter-finals with a better goal difference.
Tauro and San Francisco, both from Panama, were eliminated in the quarterfinals. Herediano, regardless of what happens with the hurricane on the last day, is already seeded for the second round of the Central American Cup.
Motagua meets Herediano on August 28 in a match that is considered the final of the group led by Diego Vazquez. This commitment is at 8 pm!
