Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10 Week 2 Delivers Six UFC Contracts

Week 2 of Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10 produced one of the most dramatic nights in the program’s history, with UFC President and CEO Dana White awarding six UFC contracts following five action-packed bouts at Meta APEX.

All five winners secured contracts, while one notable losing fighter also earned an opportunity to compete in the UFC. Underdogs delivered standout performances, and returning prospects capitalized on their second chances inside the Octagon.

Brito Scores Dramatic Third-Round Knockout Against Fazil

Former OKTAGON welterweight champion Brito established his striking rhythm early against Fazil. The Brazilian landed effective calf kicks and sharp straight punches that repeatedly caught his opponent by surprise.

Fazil continued to advance, but his punches initially lacked the speed and impact of Brito’s combinations. Brito relied on quick footwork to avoid return strikes while consistently taking advantage of his speed.

When Fazil increased the pressure, Brito changed tactics and completed a well-timed double-leg takedown. The fighters quickly returned to their feet, where Brito resumed striking and attempted a spinning backfist that did not land cleanly.

Fazil answered with heavy punches at close range and ended the opening round gesturing toward Brito as if to ask, “Is that all you got?”

Fazil’s Pressure Creates a Competitive Second Round

Fazil opened the second round by attempting to draw Brito into a sustained exchange. Brito briefly accepted the challenge, and both fighters landed significant shots during a fast-paced sequence.

A powerful left hand from Fazil was followed by a spinning back elbow from Brito. The exchanges became increasingly competitive as the round progressed.

Fazil’s constant forward movement began to affect Brito, whose striking grew less precise. The statistical gap narrowed during the second round, while Fazil’s punches appeared to carry greater force.

Brito Ends the Fight With a Crushing Right Hand

The decisive moment came during the opening seconds of the third round.

Brito rushed forward with a flying knee that narrowly missed. Fazil immediately responded with a clean right hand that drove the Brazilian toward the fence.

As Fazil moved in to capitalize, Brito launched a powerful counter right that landed flush and knocked Fazil unconscious. The sudden finish brought an emphatic conclusion to the final fight of the evening.

The knockout marked a successful return for Brito in his second Contender Series appearance and ranked among the most memorable finishes recorded at UFC headquarters.

Trent Miller Submits Douglas Henrique Rodrigues

Trent Miller defeated Douglas Henrique Rodrigues by Von Flue choke at 1:04 of the second round in their middleweight matchup.

Miller, another returning Contender Series competitor, survived a difficult opening stretch before taking control of the fight and earning the submission victory.

Rodrigues began aggressively, connecting with several heavy kicks before unloading a multi-punch combination that dropped Miller and placed him in immediate danger. The Brazilian swarmed in search of an early stoppage, but Miller protected himself and eventually escaped.

The bout was then temporarily halted after Rodrigues landed a hard kick to Miller’s groin, giving the American time to recover during an injury timeout.

Miller Takes Control on the Ground

After the action resumed, Miller landed a left hand that briefly knocked Rodrigues off balance. He later caught one of Rodrigues’ kicks and used the opportunity to bring the fight to the canvas.

From inside Rodrigues’ guard, Miller connected with punches and elbows from the top position. Rodrigues attempted to move toward the fence and work his way back to his feet, but Miller kept him grounded and continued delivering strikes until the end of the first round.

Miller carried that momentum into the second. He capitalized on a grappling exchange and secured a Von Flue choke, forcing the finish just over one minute into the round.

The comeback victory demonstrated Miller’s composure after early adversity and helped him secure a UFC contract in his return to the developmental series.

Six Fighters Earn UFC Opportunities

Week 2 of Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10 combined dramatic comebacks, decisive finishes and competitive matchups. With six contracts awarded, the event gave every winning fighter—and one standout competitor in defeat—a chance to continue their careers on the UFC roster.
