Booker signs five-year extension with Suns

Devin Booker has signed a five-year, $158 million maximum contract extension with the Phoenix Suns, the team announced.

Booker and the Suns met Tuesday afternoon to discuss the parameters of the contract extension. The contract couldn’t be finalized until after July 6.

Booker averaged 24.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists this past season, shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from three.

The Suns had the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 draft and selected Arizona big man Deandre Ayton. The franchise hired Igor Kokoškov to be their new head coach.
