Bulls making everyone but Markkanen and Carter Jr. available

Bulls rookie big man Wendell Carter Jr. has reportedly been made off limits in trade talks.

With the trade deadline closing in and the phone lines getting more active, word is the Chicago Bulls will reportedly listen to trade offers for anyone on the roster other than second-year stretch forward Lauri Markkanen and rookie big man Wendell Carter Jr.

The news comes from Zach Lowe of ESPN about the 12-40 Bulls, who are in a complete tear down at the moment after firing head coach Fred Hoiberg in early December.

The team is looking to be one of the leagues sellers at the deadline, and players like Kris Dunn and Zach LaVine could be a duo that will peak the interest of plenty of teams.

The pair came to the Bulls in the Jimmy Butler trade with Minnesota, and LaVine signed a four-year, $78 million deal with the Bulls last summer after Chicago matched an offer from the Sacramento Kings.

Dunn is putting up 12.2 points and 6.3 assists, and while known also for his defense might welcome a change of scenery from the season long issues in the Windy City.

Markkanen and Carter Jr., the two players that the Bulls are reportedly not interested in moving, are set to be at least part of the foundation for the future.

After missing the first 23 games of the year with an elbow issue, Markkanen is averaging 17.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

Carter Jr. had surgery on his left thumb in January, and isn’t expected to play again in the 2018-19 campaign.

When he did play, the 19-year-old put up 10.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in 44 games, numbers impressive enough for the Bulls to want to keep him around for the future.

The trade deadline is Thursday at 3 p.m. EST.

    It’s pique, not peak!

  2. Id be enquiring as to what the Bulls would want for Zach LaVine if Im the Cavs. Id move Colin Sexton to Clarkson bench role. Move Clarkson.
