Former NBA guard Chauncey Billups is joining the Los Angeles Clippers’ broadcast team as an analyst on FOX Sports West/Prime Ticket, as relayed by Andrew Greif of the LA Times.
Billups, 43, has been working in the studio for ESPN’s NBA coverage since 2014.
“According to people with knowledge of plans for next season’s broadcasts, there is a strong possibility that the analyst role on Clippers broadcasts will rotate among a handful of people, including Billups,” Greif reported. “That would be similar to how the role was filled last season.”
Billups has been in line for several front-office vacancies over the previous few seasons, including the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves. He spent 17 years in the NBA as a player, including two with the Clippers.
His most notable years came with the Detroit Pistons, winning a title in 2004.
