Free agent big man Holmes, Kings agree to contract

Power forward-center Richaun Holmes is headed to the Kings after one seasons with the Suns.

Free agent power forward Richaun Holmes has agreed to a two-year contract with the Sacramento Kings, his agency announced on social media.

According to Shams Charania of Stadium, the deal is worth $10 million.

Holmes, 25, appeared in a career-high 70 games with the Phoenix Suns this past season, averaging 8.2 points and 4.7 rebounds. He spent three seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers before that.

The Kings have made some notable signings in free agency — re-upping with small forward Harrison Barnes and agreeing to deals with forward Trevor Ariza and point guard Cory Joseph.

Along with all that, the Kings have hired a new coach in former Los Angeles Lakers coach and Golden State Warriors assistant Luke Walton.
