Free agent guard Dozier signs one-year deal with Nuggets

Free agent guard PJ Dozier appeared in two games with the Thunder in 2017-18.

The Denver Nuggets have agreed to a one-year contract with free agent guard PJ Dozier, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Dozier is 6-foot-6 and appeared in six games with the Boston Celtics last season, averaging 3.2 points and 2.8 rebounds. He was on a two-way contract with the Celtics, though, and spent most of his time with the G-League’s Maine Red Claws.

He averaged 21.1 points, 6.7 assists and 6.6 rebounds for the Red Claws, picking up third team All-G League honors.

The Celtics declined to extend him a qualifying offer following the season. Dozier appeared in two games with the Oklahoma City Thunder as a rookie in 2017-18.

The Nuggets currently have 14 contracts with both two-way slots available. As ESPN’s Bobby Marks noted, Dozier cannot sign an Exhibit 10 contract since the Nuggets do not have a G League franchise.
