The new validity period for presenting the card with full doses of Covid-19 vaccines is one of the requirements that will govern, from the early hours of Thursday in Ecuador, international travelers at airports, in accordance with the provisions of the Commission for Emergency Operations (COE).

This includes displaying a negative RT-PCR or antigen test result for covid-19 up to 72 hours prior to the flight, with counting from sample collection (children under 2 are exempt from providing these tests).

Special consideration for travelers from Brazil

All travelers (over 2 years of age) who are from Brazil must submit a negative RT-PCR or negative antigen test performed 72 hours prior to arrival in Ecuador. Despite the fact that this test is negative, upon entering Ecuador, you must perform ten days of isolation in your home or at any accommodation of your choice at the traveler’s expense.

Persons who present a vaccination card or equivalent with full doses and valid for at least 14 days prior to flight, will not be quarantined.

Children under the age of two years are exempted from submitting these documents.

Getting ready to enter the Galapagos Islands

The National Council of Europe has also decided to approve the guidelines for entry into the Galapagos, which will come into effect from midnight and to which all people, regardless of their immigration category, must comply.
