The Memphis Grizzlies are signing forward Bruno Caboclo to a 10-day contract, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Caboclo is a former No. 20 overall draft pick of the Toronto Raptors and has been playing in the G-League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
He was traded to the Sacramento Kings last February, then wound up in training camp with the Houston Rockets in the fall. He was waived before the season.
The Bruno Caboclo signing now puts the Grizzlies $377,860 below the luxury tax. The former first-round pick will earn $91,605 with $85,458 applied to the salary cap. To stay under the tax, Memphis will need to stagger all future 10-Day signings.
