The Miami Heat have exercised their fourth-year option on big man Bam Adebayo, the team announced in a news release.
Adebayo, 22, is 6-foot-10 and has spent each of his first two seasons with the Heat. He averaged 8.9 points and 7.3 rebounds last season, appearing in all 82 games.
While the Heat did not release terms, it is believed the option will pay him a little more than $5.1 million for the 2020-21 season.
Adebayo ranked 29th in total rebounds, tied for 31st in offensive rebounds, 32nd in defensive rebounds, 40th in rebounds per game and 40th in blocks.
He scored a career-high 22 points Dec. 27 vs. the Phoenix Suns and grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds vs. the Raptors while coming off the bench Nov. 25.
The Heat are expected to begin training camp Oct. 1.
