Hornets re-sign point guard Chealey to Exhibit 10 deal

Point guard Joe Chealey spent most of last season with the Greensboro Swarm of the G League.

The Charlotte Hornets have re-signed free agent point guard Joe Chealey to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.

Chealey, 23, spent his entire rookie season with the Hornets on a two-way contract. Most of that time was spent with the Greensboro Swarm of the G League, where Chealey averaged 16.3 points and 5.3 rebounds.

Exhibit 10 contracts are minimally guaranteed contracts for training camp that generally give the team the player’s rights for their G League affiliate.

The Hornets have one two-way contract remaining after signing rookie forward Robert Franks to one two-way slot.
