Ingles, Jazz agree to one-year contract extension

Jazz forward Joe Ingles averaged more than 12 points last season.

The Utah Jazz have signed forward Joe Ingles to a one-year contract extension, the team announced in a news release.

The extension is worth $14 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, and will kick in at the end of next season.

Ingles, 32, is 6-foot-8 and averaged 12.1 points and 5.7 assists last season. The Jazz have made the playoffs three straight seasons and the Western Conference semifinals in each of the previous two.

They open the season Wednesday vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder.
