Before the 2017-18 college basketball season tipped off, Missouri freshman Michael Porter Jr. was all but a consensus pick to be selected with the No. 1 overall choice.
However, a back injury sabotaged Porter’s one season with the Tigers and though he returned to play in the postseason, his draft status appeared to take a hit.
Not with the Sacramento Kings, apparently, though, according to Sam Amick of USA Today.
There’s a very real chance the Kings would take Michael Porter Jr. at No. 2, but it’s unclear how the canceling of the Friday workout in Chicago might impact the process. They want more intel on medical and another look. Teams are being told that the workout will be rescheduled.

Porter Jr., Luka Doncic and Marvin Bagley III will be in play for Sacramento with the No. 2 overall selection, according to Amick, assuming the Phoenix Suns select Arizona center Deandre Ayton with the first overall choice.
