Love out for Cavaliers’ home game vs. Nets

Cavaliers forward Kevin Love will sit out as part of the maintenance process, according to the team.

Power forward Kevin Love will miss the Cavaliers’ home game Wednesday vs. the Brooklyn Nets. The Cavs indicated Love is fine, but is being held out as part of a scheduled maintenance program.

Love has appeared in two games since returning from toe surgery in early November. The Cavs are 1-5 when Love plays this season and 12-45 overall.

Love is averaging 15.7 points and 10.7 rebounds on the season. He finished with 14 points and nine rebounds in the Cavs’ win over the New York Knicks on Monday.

“That’s our guy. That’s our rock out there,” Cavs forward Larry Nance Jr. said. “You always know what you’re going to get from him.”

Wednesday is the Cavs’ final game before the All-Star break. They will return to action Feb. 22 vs. the Phoenix Suns.

Wednesday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. EST on FOX Sports Ohio.

  1. Ha! They want to lower the percentage of winning this game at home. Trust the unplanned process!
