Luke Kennard targets Memphis again
Of the players still free, Luke Kennard is undoubtedly one of the most interesting. The 28-year-old guard is an excellent shooter and has proven himself in the NBA for a long time; however, his physical problems are also not unknown, as he played in 39 games last year.
In such a context, Memphis chose to decline the team option they had to keep him for €14.8m in the 2024-25 season. At the time, it was understood that the team's idea was to re-sign him on a less damaging contract for their accounts. That hasn't happened yet, but it suggests that it will end that way.
As Damiel Cole reported, Memphis Commercial CallKennard's return to Grizzlies 'seems inevitable.' After 19 days of free agency, no franchise has come knocking on his door shoot the guard At this point, the player would welcome a return to a team that wants to pay him less, but still sees him as part of their project.
As for how to fit in the guy who shot 45% of his threes last year, the aforementioned reporter explains that Memphis tends to keep the No. 15 spot on its roster for free, so before signing Kennard, it would have to make a move, as it currently has 14 guaranteed deals. The person referred to in that equation is Zeier Williams.
