Independent José María Firmin, Mayor of the Municipality of Villalba, Cocí Island, also, on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 14, formalized his commitment to leadership with Venezuela, thus joining other municipal leaders in the state of Nueva Esparta who have decided to support the work being done throughout the geography of the island. To bring Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia to the presidency of Venezuela, alongside national leader Maria Corina Machado.
The new Spartan mayors, who have added their support to González Urrutia, agree that in this way they are responding to the uproar of their municipal residents, who are also yearning for a great change in the country's leadership.
They both met in Caracas with Machado and Gonzalez Urrutia on Tuesday afternoon.
Sources from the Venezuelan leadership announced that other opposition mayors in the entity will announce their support for this presidential option within the next few hours.
