All four top seeds have advanced. The Bucks are Celtics got here with first-round sweeps. The Raptors and 76ers lost the first game, then each won four straight.
The Bucks finished with the league’s best record and have perhaps the frontfrunner for league MVP in Giannis Antetokounmpo. But they are also But they are also quite new to playing at this time of year, and have a new coach in Mike Budenholzer.
That’s not to say all of that will mean anything — but it could.
Meanwhile, unlike last season, Kyrie Irving is healthy and playing remarkably well for the Celtics, the Raptors have a new star in Kawhi Leonard, and the Sixers added Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris since the start of the season.
