The Minnnesota Timberwolves are considering using the No. 7 pick in an attempt to acquire Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls, according to a report from ESPN.
According to Amico Hoops, the Cleveland Cavaliers were also immersed in talks about Butler, but are unwilling to part with star point guard Kyrie Irving.
“Sources told Marc Stein that Butler earlier this week expressed a desire to remain in Chicago and lead the Bulls back to prominence,” ESPN reported.
However, Butler may be open to a deal involving the Timberwolves, sources have told Amico Hoops. The Timberwolves are coached by former Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau.
Yahoo Sports reported that the Timberwolves are also entering the sweepstakes for Indiana Pacers star Paul George.
