How serious are the Milwaukee Bucks about finding their next general manager? Well, serious enough to hire a search firm.
That’s the word from The Vertical, as the Bucks look to replace a front office that has relocated to Orlando to run the Magic.
Gone is John Hammond, the new Magic GM, hired by a former Bucks executive and now Magic president, Jeff Weltman. Each played large roles in building the Bucks into a young, up-and-coming and exciting team.
Per The Vertical, the Bucks “will promote Justin Zanik to interim GM and hire a search firm to conduct a process” to replace Hammond.
Cleveland.com has reported the Bucks may have an interest in Cleveland Cavaliers GM David Griffin, whose contract expires at season’s end.
However, two sources have told Amico Hoops that Griffin is unlikely to be interested in the position.
