NBL to stream LaMelo Ball’s games on Facebook Watch

Top draft prospect LaMelo Ball is playing in Australia's NBL this season.

Fans wanting to get a sneak peek at draft lottery prospect LaMelo Ball will now be able to do so via Facebook Watch, as relayed by Adam Zagoria of Forbes.

Ball and fellow NBA prospect RJ Hampton are playing in Australia’s NBL. The league is scheduled to broadcast 52 games involving Ball and Hampton on its Facebook page, Zagoria reported.

“There is a real buzz around LaMelo in particular and huge interest in the NBL from the U.S.” NBL general manager of media Nick Johnston told Zagoria.

Ball is 6-foot-7 and the younger brother of third-year New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball. LaMelo spent last season at SPIRE Institute in Ohio. He is currently playing for the Illawarra Hawks of the NBL.

Hampton is 6-4 and playing for the New Zealand Breakers. Hampton and the Breakers will come to the U.S. to play preseason games against the Memphis Grizzlies (Oct. 8) and Oklahoma City Thunder (Oct. 10).

Ball’s first NBL game is scheduled for Oct. 6 vs. the Brisbane Bullets, Zagoria reported. Hampton’s first comes Oct. 18 against Andrew Bogut and the Sydney Kings.

NBADraft.net’s early 2020 mock draft has Ball being selected fourth overall next summer, with Hampton going 16th overall.
