At least three people were killed and more than 213 injured in a 6.3-magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey on Monday, two weeks after a devastating earthquake killed thousands, officials said.

Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu said the three deaths were reported in the cities of Antakya, Defne and Samandak.

Rescuers are still searching 3 buildings.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in Defne in southern Turkey, Soylu said.

After the initial 6.3 quake, 26 more aftershocks were felt, the official added.

Soylu also said that part of the main fault in Antakya appears to have ruptured during the last earthquake.

“In our assessment with our teachers, there is information that another part of the fault has ruptured in Antakya,” he said.

In northwest Syria, more than 130 people have been injured, the White Helmets volunteer rescue group said.

The White Helmets reported no casualties so far.

Many buildings that were already damaged by the previous earthquake collapsed.

“Our teams are working to bring the injured to hospitals, survey affected towns and cities, and clear debris to open roads for ambulances,” the White Helmets said.
