The Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers are among those pursuing a trade for veteran wing Andre Iguodala of the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Shams Charania of Stadium.
It is believed the former Golden State Warriors standout and 2015 Finals MVP is being made available by the Grizzlies, who acquired him in a trade earlier this month.
Along with the Rockets and Clippers, Charania cited the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets as teams with an interest in a potential trade for Iguodala. Also, the Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly tried to trade for Iguodala before he was dealt to the Grizzlies and may still have an interest.
Iguodala, 35, is 6-foot-6 and still considered one of the league’s premiere perimeter defenders. He also occasionally can defend opposing big men.
He appeared in 68 games with the Warriors last season and averaged a career-low 5.7 points — though he increased that averager to 9.8 points in 21 playoff games.
As Charania noted, both the Rockets and Clippers have salary-cap considerations, making a potential trade for Iguodala difficult.
