The Houston Rockets will meet with free-agent center JaVale McGee today in Los Angeles, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
McGee, 31, is coming off the best season of his 11-year NBA career, averaging 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots in 22.3 minutes in 75 games (62 starts) for the Los Angeles Lakers, shooting 62.4 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from the free-throw line.
The 18th overall pick of the 2008 NBA Draft out of Nevada by the Washington Wizards, the 7-foot, 270-pound McGee carries career averages of 8.0 points, 5.1 boards and 1.6 blocks in 17.4 minutes in 633 games (249 starts), shooting 57.0 percent from the field and 58.8 percent from the charity stripe.
McGee earned two NBA championship rings while playing with the Golden State Warriors in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
