Smith agrees to two-year contract with Wizards

Veteran point guard Ish Smith reportedly is headed to the Wizards on a two-year deal.

Free agent point guard Ish Smith has agreed to a two-year contract with the Washington Wizards, according to Shams Charania of Stadium.

The deal is reportedly for $12 million.

Smith will help replace the loss of Tomas Satoransky, who agreed to a sign-and-trade arrangement to the Chicago Bulls. Also, the Wizards still aren’t certain when starting point guard John Wall will return from injury.

Smith, who turns 31 on Friday, spent the previous three seasons with the Detroit Pistons. He averaged 8.9 points and 3.6 assists this past season.

The Wizards are Smith’s 11th team.
