Suns get to the point by agreeing to deal with Rubio

Point guard Ricky Rubio has agreed to a deal with the Phoenix Suns.

The Phoenix Suns are signing free-agent point guard Ricky Rubio to a three-year, $51 contract, according to Shams Charania of Stadium.

Rubio, 28, averaged 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 27.9 minutes in 68 games (67 starts) for the Utah Jazz last season, shooting 40.4 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from deep and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Suns have been searching for a point guard since trading Eric Bledsoe to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Rubio, along with Dario Saric, acquired in a trade the night of the draft, will add desperately needed experience to a young Phoenix squad, which is led by All-Star Devin Booker.
