Previously, Ramirez Rivera served as President of the Arecibo Pan American University for 14 years. He has served as president and CEO of Humacao Community College, director of the School of Technical Careers at San Juan College of the Antilles, president and general manager of Columbia College, director of the Licensing and Accreditation Office of the Council of Higher Education in Puerto Rico’s academic institution, and president of Huertas Junior College.

The now 11th Pan American President holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Puerto Rico and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the Interamerican University Metro Campus.
