SANTO DOMINGO, June 16.- Agents of the Investigation Department (DeCrim) and prevention officers on duty at the Southern Regional Directorate of the National Police arrested five members of a dangerous gang that was dedicated to fraudulently stealing motorcycles in its agency. They were working in Barahona province.

The detainees, in collusion, stole motorcycles of various makes and models worth millions of pesos.

They are Aroa Karina Suero, Manuel Jimenez Acosta, Luis David Pérez, Jean Carlos Velez and Luis Hernesto Suero, all residents of Barahona and employees of a motorcycle dealership in that city, who are supposed to have stolen more than 20 motorcycles.

The police report indicates that out of the aforementioned total, seven were identified from the inventory list that were not present at the mentioned location, as the unscrupulous people did not have enough time to enter them into the system.

The police said that the detainees shipped the motorcycles through the company's system, posing as people unrelated to the conspiracy, and then sold them secretly.

Investigations are still ongoing to determine the possible involvement of others involved. The detainees will be placed at the disposal of justice.
