U.S. Election 2020: Anthony Fossie Says Trump Campaign Advertising Quote Is Misleading
Anthony Fossie, the best scientist in the US government, has said that the edited clip he used in the Trump campaign advertisement was incorrect.
This shows that Dr. Fucci said that “no one can think that much can be done” to fight Govt-19, and that he is talking about President Trump.
However, Dr. Fucci was talking about himself and other medical officers.
The epidemiologist had previously clashed with Mr Trump over how to deal with the infection.
“In nearly five decades of public service, I have not publicly acknowledged any political candidate,” he said in a statement to AFP.
“The comments made to me without my permission in the GOP campaign advertisement were taken from the context of a broad statement I made several months ago about the efforts of federal public health officials,” Dr. Fucci added.
The 30-second campaign ad reads before reading Dr. Fucci’s clip that “President Trump is recovering from the corona virus, and so is the United States.”
However, in an original footage from Dr. Fucci’s epidemiologist in an interview with Fox News in March, he says: “I spend all my time working on this, and I’m at the White House every day. It’s every day. I can not imagine that. “
In response, Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murdoch said: “These are Dr. Fucci’s own words. Dr. Fossie praised the Trump administration’s work from a nationally televised interview with this video. The words spoken are accurate, directly from Dr. Fucci’s mouth.”
President Trump Protected the use of the clip, Tweeting: “Those are actually Dr. Fucci’s own words. According to some governors, we have done a ‘unique’ job.”
It comes just days after Dr Fassi criticized the White House for holding a rally last month linked to the Govt-19 eruption.
He described the Rose Garden event on September 26 as a “supremacist event” to unveil President Trump’s Supreme Court candidate. At least 11 people who attended later tested positive for the virus.
Mr Trump also tested positive on October 1 and was hospitalized for three days with the virus.
But just a month before he was to face Democratic candidate Joe Biden in last week’s presidential election, doctors allowed him to hold public events.
The Trump campaign on Monday is planning a big rally in Sanford, Florida.
Mr Trump has expressed skepticism about measures such as masks and locks to combat the spread of Govt-19, which has killed more than 213,000 people in the United States. He spoke of the possibility of getting the vaccine, although researchers say this is unlikely to happen until next year.
According to the poll, Mr Biden has a single-digit lead over Mr Trump, and 35% of Americans agree with the ABC News / Ipsos poll on how Mr Trump handled the crisis.
Who tested positive in Mr. Trump’s circle?
The U.S. media reports that in recent days 34 White House aides and other contacts have tested positive for Govt-19, many of whom are linked to the September 26 event.
The Minnesota Department of Health said Friday that nine epidemics have been linked to Mr Trump’s September 18 campaign rally.
- Did this White House event go viral?
Authorities say at least one person was infected when they attended, and two cases led to admission to the hospital, one of whom is in intensive care.
