Wizards hire former Browns VP Brown; name Sheppard GM

Former Browns executive VP Sashi Brown has accepted a position with the Wizards.

Former Cleveland Browns football operations executive Sashi Brown has taken a job with the Washington Wizards as chief of planning and operations.

Brown will report directly to new Wizards general manager Tommy Sheppard.

Along with Sheppard and Brown, the Wizards hired former Georgetown coach John Thompson III as head of the athlete development and engagement department.

Brown, 43, was executive VP of the Browns from January 2016 until December 2017. He was the team’s executive VP/general counsel for three years before that.

Thompson, 53, coached the Hoyas from 2004-17.
