The capacity of the executive aircraft parking lot at Daniel Oduber Quiros Airport, in Guanacaste, will increase by 30%.

The business seeks to meet the growth in demand for registered business flights in the region and to incorporate security elements into Earth’s space.

This is one of the projects included in the Airport Infrastructure Program 2022, which is being promoted by civil aviation.

The 2,405 million yen the expansion will cost is being discussed in the Legislative Assembly, as part of next year’s regular budget.

The projection is scheduled to begin specifically with the first phase of work in 2022, which includes an additional 19,500 square meters of surface to the west of the platform.

In addition, the berth will be replaced to correct some material separation problems, which also seeks to increase the safety of operations.

Alvaro Salas, director of civil aviation, said that in the current circumstances, restrictions are being placed on ships to stay overnight, affecting the airport’s service, image and income.

“Given the growth of corporate aviation at this airport, it is necessary to provide more space and improve the current conditions, especially since in many cases it includes investors who have interests in the region and the state in general,” the president added.
